Kanikular Deevas Dagger – The RoadRunner Collects Three Milestones

Kanikular Deevas Dagger – RoadRunner Collects Three Milestones

At just 18 months of age, Kanikular Deevas Dagger is already living up to her nickname, RoadRunner. A seriously intense young female who approaches absolutely everything with the same philosophy: give 200%, all the time. There is rarely a half-hearted effort from this girl!

From the training field to the show ring

September saw Dagger successfully complete her BH-VT, demonstrating the obedience, temperament and social stability required at this foundational level of IGP. She also earned her endurance title (AD), another milestone in her development as a working German Shepherd.

On 10 October, it was time to swap the training field for the show ring at the German Shepherd Dog League NSW Championship Show. Dagger earned a Very Good (SG) grading — a pleasing result for a young working-line female.

For a dog who would much rather be doing something at full speed, the show ring offers a rather different challenge!

The complete German Shepherd

At Kanikular, we have always believed that the German Shepherd should be more than a dog that excels in one discipline. Working ability, stable temperament, physical soundness and correct breed type all matter.

Dagger's achievements reflect that philosophy. The BH-VT establishes the foundation for further IGP competition, the endurance title demonstrates physical conditioning, and her show grading provides an independent assessment of her conformation.

But titles and gradings only tell part of the story.

What makes Dagger such an exciting young dog is her extraordinary willingness to work. Her intensity, enthusiasm and determination are there every time she steps onto the training field. With RoadRunner, the challenge is rarely getting her going — it's keeping up!

At 18 months, she is still very much a work in progress, with plenty of maturing and training ahead.

Three milestones in two months, and RoadRunner is only just getting started!
